Camshaft
Steve Huggins, the sole owner of Huggins Cams, has been in the camshaft business since 1972 with Cam Dynamics. There he was in charge of Production of Camshafts and helped develop and build the oval track program until it was sold in 1982. Steve started his own company, Huggins Cams, in 1983. During his time at Cam Dynamics, he was fortunate to work with professionals of the likes of Bob Glidden, Jack Rousch, Earl Gaerte, and Jere Stahl - as well as racers like Rick Ferkel, Jan Opperman, Bubba Jones, Kenny Weld, Toby Tobias, Doug Hoffman, Sammy Swindell, Steve & Karl Kinser, and Doug Wolfgang. Huggins Cams has taken that knowledge and applied it to every racer's needs with custom cams for specific applications, developed through extensive dyno and track testing.
Since 1992 Huggins Cams has powered 23 national champions out of 27 years. (1992 - 2019)
Lifters
Todays cams have more aggressive lobes. Increasing oil supply to these lobes is critical. A precision E.D.M. laser burns a .021 hole in the center of the face of the lifter. This allows a constant oil supply to the cam lobe, allowing higher valve spring pressures, more aggressive profiles and reduced lobe wear.
- Made in the U.S.A.
- 0.84" diameter
- Direct lube
Application
This camshaft works well in stock cars with 2-barrel carbs or modifieds with 4-barrel carbs.
