- 10 micron filters are recommended for use as a post-pump filter in EFI systems
- 40 micron filters are recommended for use as a post-pump filter in carbureted systems
- 100 micron filters are recommended for use as a pre-pump filter in carbureted and EFI systems

Put one of these between the pump and the carb on my relatively mild 350 sbc with 750 CFM Edelbrock Quadrajet and it would starve for fuel after about 2 second of WOT. Removed the filter element and the problem went away. Going to try to higher micron filter and see if that takes care of it.
