Overall Assessment

Customers speak highly of our product's excellent quality and aesthetic. Its design is often described as well-made and good-looking, making it appear like original equipment on vintage vehicles. The product's installation is noted for being straightforward and manageable even for those with novice skills. It has demonstrated long-lasting performance with one review mentioning a 7-year service life without problems. Some customers have expressed that the hinge could benefit from being made of heavier metal for improved support. Our product has been favorably used in vehicles like the '57 Studebaker, '66 Mustang, and '68 C10, setting it apart in the market.

Using on a 1966 Mustang. The hinge on the gas door is of weak metal, need to be heavier metal. Had to make a gusset for support.

I used this in relocating the tank on my 1968 C10 from inside the cab to the rear of the truck. After looking on the web for possible fuel filler location I decided to go with a more conventional location and purchased this filler door. I have installed the door and put the base and clear coat on the truck bed this weekend. The fuel door looks like it is original equipment. I would list my skill levels for body work a little above novice, so if I can do this almost anyone should be able to.

Questions & Answers

Hello, I inquired earlier about the cap that comes with this item. I was told it is "vented" and therefore would not require a separate vent. However, I've determined the best (and only way) for me to mount the filler neck is to do so with the filler neck and cap "in" the trunk of my hot rod. Is it possible to get a similar spring loaded cap (that doesn't have to be removed to insert the nozzle) but which is "not vented"? I intend to run a separate vent line to the exterior atmosphere so as not to accumulate gas fumes within the trunk of the car. If so, I'd like to order this product with that sealed cap. Thank you!
