Its better with 17" because less head movements keeps me safer from neck injuries. Easy to replace just take out 4 screws place new tether in and screw back in.

I had an older Hans Sport with the fixed tether, it is a 2 minute operation to upgrade to this sliding tether (just 4 screws). Fit is perfect and the sliding tether is a great upgrade over the fixed one.
