Debuting in 2003 in the Dodge Ram pickup truck, the third generation Dodge Hemi engine, known to many enthusiasts simply as the Gen III Hemi, has grown in popularity as a viable V8 engine swap candidate. It has shown up in everything from hot rods and classic Mopar muscle cars to the extremely popular early Dodge trucks, and everything in between. It is right at home cruising the boulevard in your muscle car or making 9-second passes at the drag strip. It is a very versatile power plant. Just look at what the factory has done with the Hellcat and Demon versions making insane amounts of supercharged horsepower with a full vehicle warranty! Available in many Stellantis vehicles including Ram pickup, Chrysler 300C, Dodge Charger and Challenger, and several Jeep models, as well as a brand new crate engine or custom built engine from multiple sources, there is a Gen III Hemi engine out there for any budget or project need.

Like most enthusiasts, we like to buy the big decision items like engine, transmission, wheels, brakes, and more way before we need them. This means we need to store these items until our project is ready for them. While brakes, and even wheels, will fit on a shelf, it’s hard to get a used engine or a crate engine to fit on a typical shelf in your shop or garage. The Gen III Hemi engine uses an iron block (from the factory) with aluminum heads. A fully dressed engine is nearly 500 pounds. Our Mopar engine stands for the 5.7L Hemi are made right here in Lincoln, Nebraska from quality 10-gauge 2” tubing and steel plate with 1/4-inch steel engine mount pads that are laser cut and hand welded in precise welding jigs for repeatable quality control. Our stands are not universal in design, requiring adjustment of legs or mounting points. The compact design tucks the stand in for a small overall footprint while maintaining stability. The BlockDock™ Gen III Hemi engine cradle has 1/4-inch thick mount pads that bolt directly to the block for rigidity and we even include the correct 10mm mounting bolts (that store directly on the stand’s base in threaded storage holes) to mount the stand to your Gen III Hemi engine block, saving you the hassle of bolt bin digging for eight of the same metric bolts!
