Universal headlight switch

I have purchased this GM Style headlight switch. It works very well and is constructed of strong materials metal and plastic. Be sure also to purchase the wire pigtail that goes along with the product it makes things a lot easier when installing. It comes with a nice polished knob and a cut to length rod to just about fit any application. I'm really happy with the product and also is priced very competitive on the market. Plus Speedway Motors is very easy to work with and bend over backwards to help the customer. I have called with some persons on insulation on other products and they've been very helpful when I have needed help.

I would think long and hare before getting this switch again

The switch came as part of a 22 circuit wiring harness. When I tried to install the shaft it would not lock into place no matter what I tried. After reading complaints about this type of switch on line I decided to open it rather than return it. The metal part that locks the shaft is supposed to be spring loaded. There was no spring. Therefore it would not lift into the lock position. I used pact of a spring from a ball point pen to replace the missing spring. After reassembling the switch it worked like it was supposed to work. It's a shame that an expensive switch can't be properly assembled during manufacture.

what size hole is needed in the dash?

Your PDF Instructions show "Battery Feed" to terminal 4, and "Fused Battery Feed" to terminal 7. What's the difference? The switch only knows 12vdc input, not whether or not it is fused. I'm using your 12 circuit harness, and there is only one wire (#1, red) for battery feed to the headlight switch. I am not using the GM plug, but rather individual harness wires with female spade terminals to connect to the switch.. Does the red #1 battery wire connect to switch terminal 4 or 7?

Hello, When I put the rod into the switch there is no click and it does not latch and comes right out. Pushing the button does not help
