Fluidampr 550203 Details

The high-tech Fluidampr uses silicone fluid to control the torsional harmonic vibrations created by your Flathead Ford V8. This is far superior to original-style dampers and will help eliminate crankshaft breaks, reduce wear on main bearings and increase horsepower.

This damper is for 1949 Ford 8BA Flatheads with single 5/8" "wide" accessory belts. It has two pulley grooves.

A little cleaning required on the inside of the balancer where it presses onto the crank shaft. After calling the company for support and following their recommendations for cleaning, the fluid damper pressed on as described and works great. Spins true, no belt hop. I will purchase this item again Sincerely Marc

The bore is slightly too small to install without considerable polishing (.003) of the crankshaft. The keyway is too small both in width and depth, requiring modification of the crankshaft woodruf key in order to install. Not the end of the world, but annoying, considering the price of the unit.
