I would like to get overdrive in my 1948 F6 2 ton truck. It has the flathead V8 with the removable bell-housing. Would there be any problem using the AOD with the F6's 2 speed rear axle as long as one didn't try and change the axle gear ratio while driving? If so, do you have a manual OD transmission kit that would fit? Thank you.

This is a follow up to a previous question that was answered by John "the expert". I asked about hooking up the Aod with the stock carb. John stated "The TV cable is included with this flathead to AOD kit and many customers have used it with the stock carburetor." After contacting Lokar, who makes the TV cables, I was informed that it is impossible to use the stock carb, and in fact no carb that will fit the stock manifold will work. I have been informed that the best bet is to find an adapter from the 3 bolt manifold to a 4 bolt to fit a 1965-71 Ford 2100 carb. Does Speedway have any such adapter?
