If you have tried to find a good used Corvair steering box, you know that the chances of finding a good one are slim to none. Don't bother! These brand new Corvair steering boxes have already been reversed. Designed for use on traditional steering cars and T-buckets, these boxes are constructed of modern high strength steel and needle bearings to ensure durability, which original boxes just can't offer.
- 5/8"-36 spline input
Painted black. Does NOT include pitman arm. Ratio is 20:1.

Had bought one of the cheaper Corvair boxes first and the steering was still very loose on my T-Bucket. Called Speedway they recommended upgrading to the Flaming River and it was great! The difference was daylight & dark.

Can be pitman arm be mounted in the upwards position ? the custom frame to make the car lower, will make the pitman arm too close to the ground .

When mounting the gear box, do you just mount it flat, or does the output shaft where the pitman arm goes need to be 90 degree with frame. I'm asking cause if you set the gear box flat on the mounting surface it has a taper and makes the output shaft at an odd angle

Hello! Is it possible to make this steering box fit my original model a ford steering column? The "Swedish vehicle Inspection" is forcing me use the old one, or else I have to have a new steering column that colapses in case of a car accident, not a solid one

When mounted standing on top of the frame, wich way does the pitman arm move when turning left? Forward or back? When mounted standing on top of the frame, which way does the pit man arm move when you turn the shaft counter clockwise? Does it move forward or back with the pit man arm down? I have a straight axle in this car and the steering box will be mounted in front of the axle.

I'm considering this box for my 39 plymouth truck which will have a 620 lb. hemi in it. Not sure what the complete truck will weigh, maybe 3000-3200. Will this box be strong enough for that application ?
