A Reusable Exhaust Header Gasket That Resists Leaks and Blowout Failures
Exhaust header gaskets have a tough job. They need to keep your engine’s hot exhaust gasses inside the header as the exhaust passes from the cylinder head to the header and on through the exhaust system. The union between the cylinder head and the header is where the highest heat is found in the exhaust system, so the exhaust header gasket needs to be up to the task to keep those hot gasses inside where they belong. Most headers ship with one-time use paper exhaust header gaskets that do not do a particularly good job of sealing unless the cylinder head and header flanges are perfect (and they rarely are). Tricks like soaking the paper gaskets in water or adding globs of silicone gasket maker all around the ports are just band-aids. Whether you’re installing brand new headers, or you’re looking for a quality gasket to service a leak on your existing headers, our EXtreme triple layer gaskets are a great solution.
Three Layers of High Heat Resistant Material Provides Lasting Protection
Our EXtreme header gaskets feature two layers of perforated stainless steel gasket material sandwiching an inner core of high-temperature rubber-based gasket material, making for a long lasting exhaust header gasket that can be reused multiple times while sealing minor imperfections and surface irregularities. This allows header removal for engine or cylinder head service without having to worry about spending time scraping dried and burnt paper gasket material off your headers and/or cylinder heads. Once you’re ready to bolt your headers back up, simply wipe down the exhaust header gasket surfaces and slip them in place between the cylinder heads and your headers and torque your header bolts to spec. The .085-inch thick header gaskets remain pliable heat cycle after heat cycle to resist exhaust leaks and blow outs.
