Custom Exhaust Systems Made Easy
If you spend much time working on cars, odds are you’re going to need to do exhaust work sooner or later. Fortunately, anyone can fabricate or repair headers and exhaust pipes with a few tools and a little practice. This 3-Piece Exhaust Pipe Expander Tool set is just the ticket to simplify exhaust work on everything from motorcycles to cars and big trucks.
If you’ve ever attempted custom header or pipe fabrication using pre-made exhaust bends, you know that it’s much easier to mock up and weld pipes that are expanded on the end for a slip-fit. Butt-welding pipes requires much more time and practice to get the fit just right. Trouble is, the flared end isn’t always where you want it to be on those bend kits. This tool allows you to expand the tubing for a slip-fit wherever you need it to be for a clean custom exhaust system.
Versatile Dies for Small and Large Tubing
Three dies make this a versatile tool for everything from 1-1/8” tubing all the way up to 3-1/2”. That means motorcycle pipes and header primaries can be fabbed up using the 1-1/8”to 1-3/4” die, medium pipes can be expanded with the 1-1/2” to 2-1/2” set, then big exhaust pipes and tailpipes can be expanded with the 2-1/8” to 3-1/2” set set. That will cover everything from repair work on a stock late model to header and exhaust pipe fab on a 700 horsepower race car.
This set is designed to be a tool to be used around the shop for a long time to come. The dies are made from drop forged, heat treated steel for long term reliability. Tube flaring can be accomplished with a wrench or ratchet, making extra power tools unnecessary. A storage case is included to keep all the dies together and organized, ready for the next job.
Exhaust fabrication is a handy skill for any builder. Having the right tools makes the job easier, and this tubing expander is a valuable addition to any toolbox.
