Worked out great !!! We have a 1937 five window coupe, that we chopped and put in 427 Chevy and now it is complete with the hidden plate. Great service and fast turn around . Thank you for your help .

I am experiencing unacceptable current draw with this unit.

Current draw occurs slightly more in the retracted "UP" position than in the extended "DOWN" position. However, after a week, my battery becomes discharged beyond use. Do you have schematics so I can possibly trace down why the clearing contacts are not stopping the current draw?

Had one for some time and started having an issue with it.I called tech to see if we could figure out what could be possible problem. Speedway decided to send me a new unit even though mine was past any warranty period. As a bonus I received a small refund due to the new one being on sale. I didn't call to try to get a replacement but was given one anyway. What a great company to deal with. Now I always look to Speedway before looking anywhere else. Thanks Speedway! You have a customer for life!

Great product, not as easy as you think

The product is well built and for all appearances, it looks to be easy to install. The critical part to the install is understanding the finished height of the product retracted and extended and getting your mounting brackets fabricated just right. In my case, this was going on a 1940 Chevy street rod and I needed to fabricate a top support and angle bracket to mount this assembly to. After changing the setup a couple of times, my final support and install worked great. Something that should be an additional consideration is that you will need to determine how you will mount a license plate light. I wound up bonding an LED one on the plate just above the license plate so the light pivots with the plate. I opted for the polished stainless steel finish. Be careful, the edges are sharp. Looks amazing but in honesty, the SS aspect is not really seen since the license plate covers most of the extended bracket and with my finished install height, there is no exposed bracket. Had my finished install had the extended plate lower and you could see part of the bracket, maybe the SS finish would be worth it. I would not spend the extra next time. I also think the price is a bit over the top but as I said earlier, it seems to be a quality product.

I have a drenched in rear plate but I'm using the hide away plate to mount LED backup lights that fold down and turn on when I shift into reverse

Worked for about a year then started running the battery down overnight. Returned and had the same problem with the new one.

Hide away license plate

We have used several. Easily adjustable and easy to mount. Great for the rear plate. Simple wiring.

Third one I've installed,

Loosing the license plate at car shows, and more importantly with airbags, when I drop it, you don't beat up the license plate.
