Speedway Motors 91003030 Details

When installing LED lights, you may need to use a dummy load resistor to increase the amps drawn by the LED on the turn signal flasher to make it work properly.

  • Increase the amps drawn by the LED
  • Turn signal flasher
  • 12 Volt source
  • The dummy loads should be installed parallel, with one LED turn/hazard bulb on each side.
  • Simply splice the dummy load into the power wire for the LED and a good ground source.
    • This must be done for one lamp on each side of the vehicle.

Worked Great

I installed led bulbs on the front and back of my 1950 f-1. After trying three different electronic flashers, I was about to give up, and go back to standard bulbs when I hit on these resistors. I knew the problem was the flasher, because the lights wouldn't come on with the electronic one, but would come on with the standard flasher, but would not flash. I even reversed the polarity as the electronic flasher manufacturer recommended. After installing the resistors, the lights worked great, and best of all, I get to keep the 5 dollar flasher, instead of the expensive electronic one. Thank You Speedway!

I soldered in the resistors as the instructions describe. One side to the blinker wire the other side to ground. The little green light in the handle of my clamp on turn signal switch still blinks for about 10 seconds after you cancel the turn signal. My setup is regular 1157 bulbs for front turn signals. Speedway motors led light kit in the rear and a 3 prong led flasher with a ground wire. Not sure what to do from here?????? 1953 Chevy Truck

I have 32 ford with LED's front and back. Turn signals work fine until the head lights are turned on. Then the front turn signals do not work. just wondering if the load resistor would help. I am using the speedway wiring harness.

1972 Chevy Elcamino LED bulbs replacements. ( 1157) I have tried two different flashers in my vehicle. One says it is LED compatible with a ground wire that has to be used for it to work correctly but did not flash. A friend in my car club gave me one with out the ground wire and that one didn't work either. Should I try the load resistors with either of these flashers or go back to the stock one?

If I buy the LED flasher unit, do I still need the dummy load resisters? I installed the basic directional signal flasher on the column but the green light in the handle is on all the time and the flasher clicks always. Now I see that load resisters are needed to make things work properly due to the LED lights I have on my roadster. If I install the LED flasher you sell, will I still need to use the dummy load resisters?
