This unit looks great installed in the stock dash of my 69 C10. The chrome front bezel is plastic not metal so we'll see how well it holds up. Connecting everything up is pretty straightforward and it provides basic good sound and power (I could use better rear speakers). The connection instructions are decent enough, the use instructions are a little confusing but generally helpful if you study them carefully and forgive the numerous grammatical and typographical errors. The slidebar function is entirely for looks. The analog face is just for show and actually does nothing at all, it is just painted on. I expect I'll leave it on digital display all the time, not sure who I'd be trying to fool that it is an old original. I guess in the end I really didn't pay for the slidebar feature, but really for the radio/bluetooth/USB features and the power rating. The digital display is deep enough into the bezel that the readout can be harder to read while driving as the bezel obscures the top of the letters and numbers. The control knob functions can be a little twitchy, but a gentle touch gets you where you want to be. The ability to customize the display colors and brightness are nice additional features. I installed a pair of 4" Kenwood speakers in the stock dash location and used some ancient box speakers I already had for behind the seat. With a little playing around with balance, fader, bass, mid and treble controls I got a pretty good sound out of it all which is well balanced. I'm not really a subwoofer proponent but it is nice that I could add one if I'd like to do so in the future. It was a little expensive for what it is. For example, I was able to install a very modern double DIN in my 2006 GTO from Kenwood recently that cost almost $100 less and it has a full touch screen, more features and more power and sounds cleaner (and powers many more speakers). I guess part of the price is paying for the OEM look and fit and since it is a smaller market.
