A Bolt-In Solution to Mount Your Slim-Line Bear Jaw Door Latch Striker Pin

When installing our Universal Slim-Line Bear Jaw car door latches you must utilize one of our Slim-Line striker pins for the latch to secure to. The striker pin is fixed to the vehicle’s door jamb to accept the Bear Jaw car door latch as the door is closed. The easiest way to install this striker pin is with one of our bolt-on cage nut plates. These cage nuts easily install behind the door jamb, requiring just three holes to be drilled; two for the retaining hardware and one for the striker pin.

Constructed of Zinc plated steel, our Slim-Line size cage nuts allow easy bear claw latch adjustment via your striker pin. Simply loosen the pin and reposition up to 1/8-inch vertically and 1/8-inch horizontally for best door alignment and then tighten the striker pin back down. The 1/4-20 mounting holes are ready to take your preferred fastener to secure the cage nut (we suggest stainless steel button head fasteners). The offset of the cage nut allows for applications where the striker pin needs to be closer to the edge of the door opening. We also carry the correct cage nut plates for our Standard latches if you are using these larger alternative Bear Jaw universal car door latch assemblies in your hot rod or street rod’s door.
