    Details

This Northstar engine was designed originally for transverse front-wheel drive applications. It was modified substantially in 2004 for longitudinal rear- and all-wheel drive use in the STS, SRX, and XLR, as well as receiving continuously variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust sides. The RWD (LH2) Northstar produces 320 hp (239 kW) and 315 lb•ft (427 N•m). An increased compression ratio of 10.5:1 enables most of the increase in power from the L37 and LD8 Northstars.

This engine is being offered to be installed in a street rod or 'non' Cadillac application.  Speedway Motors makes no guarantee of fit or application if it is intended to be installed into an o/e make/model Cadillac application.

This has been vaguely addressed in other answers, so I apologize if you feel that this is a repeat. Any information on motor mounts or mounting options in a hot rod? I have a 1961 Impala I am considering this engine for. Are the mounting points in the same place as other GM motors? Like the LQ9's or LS motors? Or are they definitely confirmed to be in a different configuration than other GM applications? Any information would definitely help me make a decision about this motor swap. An earlier answer said that you don't offer mounting plates for this engine, but is that because it absolutely has a different mounting configuration, or because you aren't sure about the motor mounts on this motor? Thanks in advance for giving more details about this issue.
