It is not very easy to mount a 6 V Optima in a Porsche 356. I had a homemade set up for many years that was kind of janky. I saw this and bought it immediately. Works great. Much safer. I did replace the screws with the exact same ones, but zinc plated, that I got from McMaster Carr. Gives it a little more bling and corrosion resistance.
will buy this product again.

I used this battery tray in my stock 1940 Ford Coupe. I like 6 volt Optima batteries because they have advantages over a wet 6 volt battery. The original 1940 Ford battery tray has no hold downs for an Optima battery but by using this tray (which's fits perfectly in the original tray) it is secure. It is designed well and the Optima battery fits nicely. Looks good too.

Bought two of these assemblies for a project and they both worked out phenomenal. Both units assembled easily and installed perfectly. Highly recommend to anyone needing great battery retention these will not let you down. Although, I did refinish some of the components to meet the quality of the build, they are very nice units.
