This kit allows you to put front disc brakes on your 1955-57 and 1959-64 fullsize Chevy passenger car (Bel-Air, Biscayne, Impala, 150 Series, 210 Series) OEM spindles (will NOT work with dropped spindles). It will work with 14" wheels intended for disc brakes, as well as most 15" (or larger) wheels. Works with 5 on 4-3/4 inch bolt patterns.
Use with our 11" rotor 910-65390 and metric caliper 910-31045 (see Notes). This kit will increase track width 3/8" per side or or 3/4" total when installed.

Please note that there is a year of the o/e spindle, 1958 application, where this bracket brake kit is not applicable in that there is a fitment issue with this specific 1958 o/e spindle and it will not fit properly and as such, is not applicable to the specific o/e 1958 spindle.

I was reworking the front disk brakes on a 64 chevy impala convertible... it had been modified with 2 inch lowered spindles and a disk brake kit (not a Speedway product btw) which left the car too low for touring. After multiple costly rim and tire alternative attempts and then trying heaver coil springs to address the lowered height, the car remained a nightmare for driving as the tires inevitably caught the wheel wells on turns... at the most inopportune moment. The provider of the lowered disk brake kit did not offer an adapter bracket for the standard spindles. Speedway did offer these stock spindle brackets, and they work perfectly on the original stock spindles. A note though - the Speedway mounts are built to handle late model mid size GM calipers (mounting bolt pattern of about 5 1/4) not the full size GM calipers (mounting of 7 1/2). The mid size calipers work fantastic btw... but i'd had the full size from the lowering kit... which are now collecting dust on the shelf... oh well!

Everything was good until we figured out you sent the incorret parts (spindle) tied up a bay for and additional 5 days ...once we had the correct parts the kit worked ou great ..... nice people to deal with, they were more than willing to work with us to fix the incorrect parts being sent in the kit ...

When first looking at this kit, it looks pretty good. A good intro kit to update your hotrod, low rider etc. But that soon changes, the kit does not have any detailed instruction, so if you are a first timer at upgrading drum brakes to disc brakes, be really for a lot of guess work. My kit was supplied with a few wrong parts that stopped my forward progress. I ended up going to the local parts place to get what was needed to continue. The bracket in the kit seems to be one of the stronger pieces in the kit, but this too could use some fine tuning. You get what you pay for, if I did it over, I would go with a higher end kit.....even with it being more money. It would be worth it...less headaches.. I hope.

basic disc brake kit for my 55 chev 210 model this car had the drum brakes on the front ,i bought the disc brake kit, but i cant put the nut on the spindle to tighten the disc assembly,no thread showing past the outside bearing, help
