Well made heat shield, fit perfectly, works great.
Bought this to protect my new, stock-style starter from heat, put headers on my Chevy 350 and they can burn the solenoid out over time. Dual-wall construction helps mitigate heat, allowing the shield to fit closer to the starter. Smart design allowing room to fish the battery cable out without hitting the edge. Attractive finish and appearance. Only thing of concern is needing to remove the bolts that hold the starter case together at the same time as one that holds the solenoid on, requiring a long extension for the small-size socket on the solenoid bolt. But as long as you plan for that it is a snap to install and gives plenty of protection.

I would never buy this product again or refer it to anybody.
Part doesn't fit like they say. Have to cut it up to fit on car ( pontiac).

I bought this knowing i would have to modify to fit my application. I had to trim and drill new holes to be able to mount part. Used on my 07 silverado classic 5.3 to shield starter from radiant heat due to install of long tube headers. Just a heads up you will have to tweak your transmission cooling lines to avoid contact. It is the correct shape to cover starter and solenoid, which is all i needed.

With an average temperature well above 105 degrees, every time I drove my 1959 Chevrolet Apache for greater than 30 minutes, the starter and solenoid would overheat and if I shut the engine off, I would get to enjoy another hour without a running truck. Problem solved! This is an excellent product that produces superior results! Thanks Speedway!!!

Will work great. Had one before and it really helps keep the heat away from the solenoid so it can do its kid and last a lot longer.

The product fit well. I didn't have to unwire or remove the starter. The weather is cooling off, so the real test of the product will be next summer.
