Great tool for the infrequent hose fabricator
I believe push on fittings are great but a mechanical device is necessary to install. This tool worked great it is not sturdy enough for commerical use but for the home builder it works fine as long as you are careful. I lubed the fitting and heated the end area of the hose and lubed the inside very well. Fitting went on with no problem. I would of bought the Koal tool for $250.00 if I did hoses more often. I did not manhandle the tool and took my time it worked great. The design is right on. Wish the manufacture would make a tool for all angle fittings for the hobby person.

After trying a combination of a few methods (heat gun, boiling water, hose end in freezer, etc.) I kept ending up with a hose that was just a fraction away from being fully seated. Not satisfied I searched for an economical tool and this was the only option. I all the negative reviews, thought I could get luck as I was only making one short hose rolled the dice and lost! The part that holds the hose itself is plastic. In my first attempts trying to be careful the hose slid backwards through the jaws failing to seat the fitting. Pushing harder on the plastic handles to stop the slipping one side snapped off. I was surprised how easy it broke. I should have listened to the reviews.

Too bad this is only for straight fittings, it did work great for the job it was designed to do. Bot of course not all fittings are straight, Seems as though the pusher end could have a horse shoe shaped saddle that would fit behind the hose end boss and use that to push against thus allowing the tool be used on various shaped fittings. Taking into account the purpose for which the tool was built it worked very well, just don't have enough straight fittings.

As long as you're straight, you're ok.

If you are using a straight push in fitting you are good to go, but if you have a 45 or a 90 this tool will not work.

I have two concerns that could help this tool. First the screw on insert that pushes against the fitting, its in clear which end is correct say for a 6an where should it press for the best no damage push. Second the push handle could be thicker I'm afraid of breaking it.
