Modern 6,500K White Lighting For Maximum Visibility In All Conditions

Standard incandescent headlights and even most halogen headlights give off a yellow tint to their lighting due to the way they produce light. In an incandescent headlight a tungsten wire is heated to a high temperature, which emits light at that extreme temperature output. This light that is emitted is generally in the 2,700-3,000 Kelvin (K) range, which is where the yellowish tint comes from. This process generates a lot of heat and puts a significant load on the electrical system. This heat and electrical load are what reduces the lifespan of a typical headlight and can melt the headlight wiring connector or even damage the headlight switch. Halogen headlights produce slightly whiter light at around 3,500K and have a longer lifespan, but otherwise produce a similar yellow light and heat/electrical load as an incandescent headlight.

LEDs on the other hand are offered in many color temperatures, from a typical yellow light to a more daylight temperature (usually like 5,000K).
