Improve Your C10s Ride Quality and Handling with LevelSet™ Direct Fit Bolt-In Tubular Control Arms

Production vehicles are often considered nothing more than a bunch of compromises bolted together on an assembly line. That may be harsh, but there is some truth to that, as every manufacturer must weigh cost vs customer use vs product safety and longevity. These compromises don’t make your Chevy C10 unsafe, but it may make it less fun to drive as you near the limits of the truck’s abilities (or your driving skills). A perfect example is your Chevy C10 pickup’s stock suspension components. Most suspensions are designed for normal every day driving and do an admirable job of getting someone from point A to point B. However, once you start pushing your ride a bit, you’ll soon realize that soft rubber bushings (good for NVH, bad for handling), and stamped steel C10 control arms (low cost and easy to make, but flex when pushed hard) do not make a well handling pickup.

Upgrading your 1973-87 C10’s rubber bushed stamped steel upper and lower front control arms to a set of tubular upper and lower control arms with upgraded bushings is a great way to enhance your truck’s handling and even its steering and braking abilities. These C10 tubular control arms are magnitudes stronger than the OE stamped steel control arms and the included Delrin bushings tighten things up even further to provide a much improved ride and handling experience with nothing more than some basic hand tools for installation. Tubular control arms are an easy to install upgrade that will show immediate benefits in ride and handling in your C10.

Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM) Steel Tubing and Fully Welded for Superior Strength

Using high strength 1020 and 1026 DOM steel tubing for construction, our tubular arms are not only stronger than stock stamped steel arms, but they are also in fact lighter as well. The lighter tubular control arms reduce unsprung weight, allowing your suspension to react more quickly, reduce vibration, and provide for a smoother ride. Additionally, we have improved the ball joint geometry to reduce bump steer and provide for smoother steering. Both upper and lower ball joints are high quality MOOG replacements (bolt in upper, press in lower) that feature low friction ball studs. The included Delrin bushings ensure the control arm’s articulation across the cross shaft has minimal deflection. This means that your C10 will go where you point it without a mushy rubber bushing experience of poor handling and erratic braking. Finally, a high gloss black powder coat provides a great long lasting protective finish.

Includes Everything You Need for An Easy Bolt-In Upgrade

We make things easy by keeping your tubular control arm upgrade for your 1973-1987 Chevy C10 a 100 percent bolt-in proposition. There is no grinding, welding, cutting, or other modifications required for installation. We include new lower control arm U-bolts, alignment shims, and installation hardware for a frustration free project. The MOOG ball joints come pre-installed, saving you time on the job. The tubular lower control arms feature our bolt-in spring cups as well. This ingenious design allows you to use these LevelSet™ C10 tubular lower control arms with traditional coil springs (stock height or lowering springs), our C10 coilover conversion kit, or even an air ride solution. So, if you’re looking to upgrade your suspension in stages, you can add these C10 tubular control arms to your C10 now and then upgrade to our coilover conversion kit or air suspension down the road and you won’t need to buy a different pair of control arms!

Not a lot of miles with them yet, but everything works like it should. Build quality- welds, bends powder coating are all consistent. I like the added caster adjustment in the upper arms. Arms themselves are great. The provided hardware and ball joints are nice, quality stuff. I dig it. The only negative was with the packaging. Packaging was in no way suitable. Control arm powder coating arrived with scrapes and scratches from bursting through the box and banging into each other inside the packaging. I elected to repaint instead of reaching out to Speedway, as I was in a crunch at the time.
