A Satisfying Project for a Chevy II nerd

I am very happy with this 1962-67 Chevy II/Nova SBC V8 Oil Pan Kit. This front sump pan replaces the rear sump notched drag racing pan I've used for over ten years in my '66 Chevy II wagon. The kit is designed for the original 283 or 327 block used in the Chevy II and I knew there would be extra work needed to fit the oil pump and pickup tube to a 350 with 4-bolt mains. The modifications are minor for those comfortable with a die grinder, cutoff wheel, and tack welding. I had a one-piece pan gasket on hand and choose to use it instead of the 4-piece gasket provided in the kit. The quality of the provided gasket appears to be good. It goes into the spare parts box. The Melling pump and shaft are nice — as you would expect. Speedway has the best price on this kit at the time I decided to do the project.

I would not buy again

It fit but we had to sand blast it because it was rusty. Called customer service and he said they are all that way. So they would do nothing about it. For the money being spent you shouldn't have to sand blast..

Good quality kit. It should be noted that this kit is for a four bolt main bearing small block Chevy. I had to modify it to fit my two bolt main motor. But it was complete and a good product.
