1958-60 Chevy, 1958-67 Corvette LED Tail/Stop Lights

It'd be perfect, if only...

Good looking product! Pros are mentioned above. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because it didn't come with a replacement gasket. The old gaskets are usually dried out and fragile. A replacement would have been a thoughtful addition to complete the package -- even if it bumped the cost slightly. My more serious complaint is not with this particular item but rather that the mfr. does not offer an LED conversion for the single-contact 1156-style tail light socket. This was the constant companion light to the dual-contact 1157-style in double (and triple) tail lights for decades. United Pacific Industries does in fact offer a clear lens back-up light for vintage (58-60) Impala and (58-67) Corvette triple systems. So, my question is: Why couldn't they take the backup light assembly and slap a red lens on it instead of clear? As this would allow them to provide coverage for a necessary companion product without any further cost, it makes absolutely no sense! To get around this limitation for my '58 Delray street rod, I had to modify the harnesses on one of the 1157 LED assemblies and on my car's original wiring. It's easy -- replace the original single-contact pigtail with a double and then cut the tail/stop wire on the LED -- but would be unnecessary if they just offered a red lens, single-contact LED light for 1156. Baffling.

These LED tail/stop lights are fantastic. First time out a friend, 1/4 mile to my rear, said the lights were burning brightly on my turn. He had told me before I purchased them that he had a hard time when close to see my turn signals. Very happy-direct fit, no hassels.
