Speedway Motors 91032462 Details
This kit allows you to run your original automatic column with a GM 500, 600, or 605 series conversion power steering box. Features an improved shift lever design and added clearance at the firewall.
Includes new tube, shaft, and floor plate. Accepts 3/4" DD rag joint.
This column is 3 1/2" shorter than stock. The overall housing length from the top of the turn signal housing down to the end of the column housing is 29-1/8".
Steering shaft included is 32" long.

lworked great, easy fit
I was performing a power steering conversion on a car that the owner wanted an original style column, so rather than trying to shorten on myself, this column fit the bill nicely. One thing I would mention is when you get ready to drill the steering shaft for the roll pin installation, use a drill press with a bit that will drill hardened steel. I might even suggest letting a machine shop drill the hole to ensure it is straight and square. I used a drill press and it was a little bit of a challenge, but we got it!

One of the worse fitting products I have purchased in a long time. No instructions or any information sent with it. More effort in R&D is needed. Took a lot of extra time to install terrible fit.

To be clear will this column 91032462 work to replace the original 57 BelAir column which originally supported an automatic trans shifting but has been converted to 4 on the floor? Diameter of the original shaft is 3/4".. I understand the power steering kit needs the column modified to work.
