Return Policy"Runtz" transistorized 12v to 6v reducers allow you to use your original 6 volt electronic devices (like gauges) on a vehicle that has been converted to 12 volts. You will need a "Runtz" for each 6 volt electric gauge on your car.
Designed for 12 volt negative ground systems only. Screw type terminals. 1.5 ohm resistance, 4 amp max load, 25 watts.
Note: Never, ever use ceramic block style reducers for gauges, radios or lighting. A power surge will destroy the electronics when first turned on. Ceramic block reducers should only be used to operate 6 volt DC motors and fans on 12 volt DC.

Customers appreciate the product's qualities such as reliability, practicality, and ease of use. This voltage reducer is hailed for allowing original 6V gauges to function flawlessly even after conversion to a 12V system, inherently preserving the nostalgic elements of vintage vehicles. The product is easy to install, supports a range of classic cars, and is described as a must-have for 12V conversions. However, few customers suggest improvements in packaging, installation instructions, and durability after reporting instances of short-term functionality. Despite minor concerns, customers predominantly recommend our product for its main feature of facilitating a smooth transition from 6V to 12V systems.

A must have in 6v to 12v conversion.
I used in on my fuel gauge when converting my 52 Chevy Styling from 6v to 12v. Super easy to install, gauge works as it should.

Only lasted 4 days
I purchased two of these. I installed one on my fuel gauge and the other on my clock in my 1953 Pontiac. The one on the fuel gauge worked great for three days, the clock lasted four days. Both were installed as per instructions and on there own fused lines with 3 amp fuses. fuses did not blow. As I need a fuel gauge, I am going to try again. The cost of converting the fuel gauge to 12 volt is about $150.00-$200.00. I'm hoping it was just a bad batch. will let you know.

Installed on Gaige on 49 Chevy truck fuel gauge. Before unit, voltage was at 12.1v, afterwards 8.7v, new wired, new ground. Not unhappy, reviews across the internet are very mixed, some work some don't.. Did not return , if I need to reduce voltage to 8v,might need it..

On a positive ground system, do you reverse the wiring and hook the gauge up in reverse. in other words hook the positive to the opposite terminal and the output to the sending unit?

When using this for gauges should I include an inline fuse with what amp? I installed one of these and it worked great but I think I accidentally shorted in out. I am ordering another one and was thinking I should add an inline fuse. It says 4 amps so should I use a 4 amp fuse or smaller? Or no inline fuse at all?
