What's in the Box

This manual shows you how to assemble one of our 1923 T-bucket or 1927 T Roadster kits. It's full of photos and step-by-step instructions to clearly illustrate the assembly process. Manual now includes chapters on installing the engine and drivetrain, preparing and intalling the body, windshield, wiring, and even how to install upholstery.

If you're considering a T-bucket purchase, you can purchase this manual first to see what it takes to build it yourself. The manual's price is fully refundable with the purchase of a 1923 or 1927 T kit.

NOTE:    This manual provides detailed examples on the assembly of a traditional T-bucket.  The manual does not provide in detail the assembly of our Tribute-T, but can be used as a generic reference to cover basic concepts.

t- bucket assembly manual

November 06, 2014
very well done pictures are sharp and clear i think you need more measurements to where the motor and trans mounts go for those of us that can not afford that option also you mention if using chevy motor one needs an carrier bearing top of motor mount driver side but no mention of where to get it or part number also you do include in the manual about mounting our own rear end but you only do it for the ford you sell there are a lot of us out here that cant afford the 899.00 you sell it for and we have to use a rear end we can find and a lot of us use a chevy 10 bolt you need to include how to mount one of those as well and you also do not mention or show how and where and what shifter to use and mount you also need to give the measurements of the upholstery for those of us that cant afford the 900.00 for it and must do it ourselves .
Pros:
  • well written and pictures
Cons:
  • needs a bit more to be well rounded
Yes, I recommend this product.

Very clear pictures and conscience text.

Like the manual. Could use more measurements as it assumes using a completed frame from speedway motors and not purchasing a bare frame and adding all fittings and devices yourself. Which would be my case as I am an experienced welder and fitter.
Pros:
  • Informative
Cons:
  • not enough measurements
Yes, I recommend this product.

T-Bucket Assembly Manual

July 07, 2014
I bought this assembly manual NOT because I am planning to build a Speedway T-Bucket but because I am in the process of scratch building a "Stretched" steel bodied 1930/1931 Model A roadster pickup. The manual is packed with loads of pictures which illustrate the actual construction steps needed to build a Speedway T-bucket. It provided me with much needed "Food for Thought" for my upcoming build of my Model A roadster pickup. The steps shown are vary similar to what is needed in my Model A build. I believe it was money well spent.
No, I would not recommend this product.

Sorry this manual is only offered as a paper copy.

I love to build the blue T bucket that you show in your video. Is there a detailed components list needed to build it? Thanks Orlando

This assembly manual gives instructions on assembly as well as part numbers of the components used to build one of our T-Buckets. If you are interested in building a T-Bucket I highly suggest you get one of these manuals. If you end up buying one of our T-Bucket kits the purchase price of this manual will be fully refunded at the time you purchase the kit.

You can install them, but if body is mounted have to remove it. and every thing else has to be adjusted to go with it to a certain point. But you should have enough slack in wiring and battery cables and fuel lines to be raised up the thikness of the fenders and running boards.

Part number 715900 Our kits do not offer the option of fenders, brackets, and necessary hardware. We do offer motorcycle style fenders that could be adapted to the front under part numbers 9002746 and 9002031. For the rear the standby for years has been numbers 9002040 or 9002041. Neither comes with the brackets or hardware and this would be up to the builder to fabricate. Original style fenders and running boards will not match up to the frame dimensions or wheelbase of the T bucket kits we offer.

I want to build a 27 T using your Deluxe body. I want to build my own frame using suspension parts that I already have. Does this manual give details as to dimensions and mounting points required for the 27 T Deluxe body?

No it does not, as your frame will not be built to the same dimensions as theirs. I built my own frame and would strongly recommend buying Tex Smith's (HOW TO BUILD HOT ROD CHASSIS). Before starting the project.

Our T bucket manual goes into extensive details on the assembly of one of our T bucket kits or the 27 roadster kit. It does not however get into a blue print scenario with dimensions of the frame and body mount location. Some customers utilize 4 body mounts and other customers may go with 6 for more solid assembly. Normally this is up to the customers preference and in the case of a custom frame, mounts would need to be located as needed.

yes it has some details on mounting . all of speedways parts are pretty much bolt in stuff. or weld. makes it real easy for a do it yourself guy
