Q & A

What's in the Box

Universal mount allows 260-289-302-351W S/B Fords and 1970-1974 Cleveland engines with front sump oil pan to be installed into most frames up to 38" wide. Cut for frame width, then bolt or weld in.

Note: We've found a lot of variation in width of Ford blocks. Bolt the cushion to the block first to get proper width measurement. Mounts are not returnable once they've been altered or installed!

You have to modify to fit your frame.

June 24, 2014
I had to modify to fit my frame, and the mounting brackets I had to cut off and re-weld on because they were on a 45 angle, instead of the end up right on the one you sent me after I've modified it I got it to work.
Yes, I recommend this product.

'96 Ford 351w out of a truck. Rear sump. Will this work?? If not, what do you recommend? Also using AOD trans. Mounting adaptor recommendation? Another question. Steering. I would like power steering. I am using stock style suspension. Need to stay with the old push/pull steering. Stock steering box is shot.

Cross member number 91618013 is for the small block Ford with Front sump and not for use with a rear sump. The best would be kit number 91018045 but there are more options. We apologize that we do not have a kit exactly for your 51 but with some modification kit number 7204102 may be another option. For the wider frames of the 53-64 but may be modified for the 48-52 frames if of interest.

I don't know bad manufacturing, I had to modify the set I had to work for my 302 motor, mine was a 45° angle I had to cut them off and then bring them up to be straight and re-weld them, before they would fit right with stock motor mounts.

They are made that way so the engine cast mounts will sit right onto the crossmember.

The cross member is made to go in so the drop section is at an angle front to back looking at it from the side and not straight up and down for clearance with the oil pan.
