Rubber hood latch/Great prices!
This item was a direct replacement for a broken latch on my motorhome engine cover, I had to replace several during my restoration and found Speedway had the absolute best prices anywhere! I will always shop Speedway now as this motorhome will always need attention having a big block Ford! These latches arrived with the fresh smell of new rubber which means they aren't old and brittle which is a definite plus as these will always need attention as they age.

Rubber failed
This was the second pair of latches I have bought in the past 4 years. I use them to hold down the hatch on the back of my teardrop trailer. They have not seen much use so I was surprised when one of them came apart as I was preparing to open the hatch. It broke in half and felt as if it had hardened and lost its flexibility. I can only guess that it is a low grade rubber that cannot stand up to time and use.

The 4 I bought a couple years ago all broke off at the rubber t-handle. That was on a seldom used show car. The new style does not have the nice show car ss hardware. The t-handle of the new style are more flexible and a softer rubber that looks and feels better, hoping for more longevity.

I used this to secure the back of the hood on my 37 Plymouth PT50 Pickup. I installed a 392 HEMI so l had to remove the side skirts and come up with something to hold down the back of the hood!

Ones like this locally are sold individually and kinda expensive. Also the rubber is harder on the locally bought ones so makes for tougher time to latch. These seem to look good quality ill be using ss hardware to mount when time comes. Like anything tho sun uv rays will prob crack rubber in time but there cheap enough if it happens.
