Our automatic emergency brake kit is unique because it is self-contained and easy to install. This means you won’t have to deal with the fuss of mounting extra external cable mounts that only add more failure points.
Our all metal weatherproof housing contains a powerful 200 lb adjustable actuator and all of the cable connections in one easy to mount unit. This translates to an easier installation and fewer failure points exposed to the elements.

I would buy this again
I was surprised by the quality after reading the other reviews. I wish I had done more research of the product prior to buying this one. I wanted a push button switch to match my start button. This one came with an on off rocker switch and all of the wiring and harness. I had to purchase an additional control motor box and the push button switch. There is another remote mount emergency brake kit that has all of the parts I ended up buying included in it. I ended up with the same thing it just took a while longer. If you have mechanical ability it's easy. No instructions are included however they are on the website next to the part when you order. If you would be happy with the rocker switch I would buy this every time. The included cables can be shortened and I did with no problem.

The holes in case had to be drilled out. did not match the bolts that was supplied. The spacer is to thick. Held the motor to high and case could not be closed. The electrical schematic does not show what wire goes where on the switch. Schematic shows 5 wire switch but I received a 6 wire switch. Speedway tech support was totally helpless. Tech support that came with the direction is only voice mail. never received a call.

Like how it's compact and self contained. Did call manufacturer and purchase parts to upgrade to the pushbutton control. Speedway motors needs to sell the E-Brake Pro+ model, it has the push button control that stops the actuator before it overloads. Not just a rocker switch.

The assembly directions are very poor at best,even online. I've got parts not sure where they go. No plug for back of relay. I'd send it back but not worth the return effort.

I've had this system for about six years, it has basically been flawless, anyone that complains about it pulling apart or not lining up in my opinion is going to be the quality of their mechanical abilities, the only thing that I can complain about is the rocker switch, If you do not have your cables adjusted properly it will not tighten completely or release, but that is not because of the unit that is strictly on the installers ability.

I've installed both the E-stop and this kit and the E-stop is well worth the extra money. The actuator on this kit was never designed to pull and the mount plate is held in place with 4 #6 screws that will pull right out of the cheap pot metal housing when put under a load. The gears inside the actuator are plastic and to adjust the actuator you have to totally remove it from the mount plate and disassemble the housing to access the adjustment cam. If you don't have the parking brake cables adjusted just right you will pull the screws out of the housing or strip the plastic gears. The E-stop kit is a simple one button push that will only pull to a certain load, this kit has a forward and reverse switch that can leave the cables not pulled tight enough or not fully released. I've built cars for over 18 years professionally and I have been a loyal Speedway motors customer since day 1. This has to be the first product from Speedway motors that I have had to truly shake my head at and give the engineers a thumbs down.
