Overall the product was very good. There was a slight misalignment of the new yoke and stub of the rearend that made the pin difficult to install. Took some minor fitting with a small round file and the pin went right in. Otherwise the installation was very easy. Very satisfied with the product.

Coupler pin length? I ordered this as a returned/ garage sale item. The pinion coupler pin, set screws, and some other pieces were not included. What is the length of the 1/4" coupler pin, and how long are the 5/16-18 set screws?

The dowel pin is 1.412" in length. The 5/16-18 set screw is 5/16" length

Part # 9191105 This kit works on the 1935-48 Ford banjo style rear ends with a 6 spline input shaft. There is not a cross reference to a Lincoln Zephyr but in many instances there have been components that interchange. You will need to verify a 6 spline application and comparable dimensions to the Ford rear end to ensure cross over. The C4 transmission kit offered by Speedway Motors is for the 49 and up Ford/Mercury cars and will NOT work on the earlier years of Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln.

This open drive conversion will only fit Banjo rear ends up to 1948. If the rear end in your truck is original, it should be a Dana/Spicer 41.

The answer is NO. I’m sorry to say that we don’t have all of the parts to make an open drive line for the Halibrand V-8 quick-change.

when installing this conversion; what do I do about possible rolling of the rear axle when accelerating or stopping. Will I need some sort of struts to stabilize the axle? If I do; what would you recommend? Could I use the existing struts by reattaching them to a location say on the tranny cross member?

When doing an open driveline conversion you will need to use either a radius rod or four bar type suspension system to retain the rear axle. Once you remove the torque tube you will have to go with another form of support to control both the rotation of the axle and the front to back and side to side movement of the rear end as the torque tube did that and the two small bars were used to stabilize it further. You could use a radius rod kit like part # 91645110 or a 4 bar kit like part # 91649055 and then a pan hard bar kit like part # 91649022.
