Q & A

What's in the Box

Stock Ford small blocks don't have four bolt main caps so we recommend using our steel main girdle to increase the strength of the bottom end. Includes 5140 steel studs, nuts and spacers.

Note:   1979-1995 Ford 302 engine main caps are different than the pre 1978 289/302 engines. The 1979 and newer 302 engines may require extra clearance around the main caps.

Depending on the pan used it may in some instances require some modification to clear the extended size of the girdle. Also depending on the oil pickup configuration it may require some slight alteration. Ford has used several pan designs over the years and some of the early designs were narrower and necessitates the alteration or you could also choose from one of the various pan styles Speedway offers.

Yes a 347 stroker is built using a 289 or 302 engine block so this should work fine for you.
