Excellent product for a great price

June 10, 2012
I've used a few other brands of scales but this is the first set that I've owned. When buying economy grade anything you always have to look for the catch. I must say with this product there is no catch! Don't let the smaller pad size scare you away. Handles a G60 tire just perfectly. Accuracy and repeatability, right on! Absolutely the only issue I had was that the handles on the carrying case broke the first time I picked it up. But that doesn't effect the reliability of the product itself. Thanks Speedway!
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Can Withstand Use
Yes, I recommend this product.

Yes these will work to scale a two or three wheeled vehicle. You will just have one or two spots on the screen that are showing zero for the particular corner weight that you are not using.

The scale pad size is very small in comparison to most Sprint Car rear tires. These scale pads are 14 1/2" x 9 1/2". Check the scale pad size compared to your tires to make sure that you will be ok with the size difference.

I know it says "perfect for mini sprints", but can it handle an IMCA Modified? Looks like the capacities are enough. Thanks, Joe

yes the capacity is 5000 lbs. Your modified is between 2200-2500lbs

Yes, it will work for a modified. The reason for reference to mini-sprint is the size of the scale pads. It is a smaller pad than other scale sets we offer.

The scale pads in this set are 14 1/2" x 9 1/2". Cut a piece of cardboard that size and see how you think it will work with your tire size. I would highly suggest a minimum of a 15" x 15" scale pad like scale sets 60411500 and 300500 have.

You will need to consult the weights and measures calibration company for more info as to the possibility of having these scales calibrated by them. Sorry we not get that deep into the certification process for racing purposes.
