Q & A

What's in the Box

Speedway sells the ONLY fully engineered shock mount. The 5/8" forged button head bolt looks good while offering maximum support.  The 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" billet aluminum support spacer has internal threads. This allows you to properly support this shock without crushing the bushing like others do, which leads to shock failures. There's a reason major chassis builders use this mount.

  • Billet aluminum
  • 4-1/2" from base of head to end of threads
  • 1-1/4" shock mount base
  • Safely mounts to brackets 1/2" thick
  • Includes required washers and nylon lock nut
  • Mounts sold individually

Notes

  1. Coil-Over Mounting Guide (GIF)
  2. Uses a 1/2" Allen head wrench for holding it while tightening.

solid product

March 02, 2015
Item is heavy and strong and works as designed. The standoff is 1 3/4" and uses a 5/8 bolt. The standoff is threaded so it's location on the bolt can be adjusted. Works well to move the shock away from the rear axle for additional clearance.
Yes, I recommend this product.

shoulder a little snug

October 05, 2014
only issue i had with this product is the shoulder on the bolt needed to be sanded in order for it to fit nicely in the aluminum spacer. it was very snug at first as it was being threaded in. i did it on a lathe. other than that it is a great fit.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Excellent Mounting

August 25, 2014
Have used these shock mounts before and have had no problem with their spacing or strength. Currently have cut pipe as spacers to get coil & shock away from rear axle. Pipe will be replaced with these mounts

Nice but wrong size.

The part was of very high quality, only one problem. I forgot to measure my shock mounting hole and these were too big so I sold them to a friend. He's very pleased with them and they worked fine for his application.
Pros:
  • nice product

Bolt is too short

March 09, 2014
This is a nice shock mount, but Speedway needs to make clear that the bolt is 4-1/2" long and will not work if the rear shock bracket is more than 1/4" thick. I purchased Speedway's triangulated 4-bar kit and the shock bracket has a 1" thick plate welded in. As a result, the bolt doesn't even protrude through the bracket.
Pros:
  • great for thin shock mount brackets
Cons:
  • useless for my application
No, I would not recommend this product.

The base of this mount is 1 1/4" long and the bolt is 4 1/2" long and 1/2"-20 fine thread. Compare these specs to the requirements of your application.

Need shock spacer with 1/2 bolt I am using shocks 2552254 with shock mount 91636100 under the axle. My holes are 1/2 inch. Will this mount work or can you suggest one.

If you remove the steel bushing from the eyelet of those shocks the mount bushings should be 5/8" ID. Then you can use this mount.

can you use these shock mount supports for the upper shock as well ?

Yes, you just need to weld a bracket to the frame with a 5/8" hole. Your spacing front to back must be parallel to allow proper shock movement. It is a good way to go because it allows proper shock movement as the rear end travels up and down.

This is a 5/8" bolt, must top mounts require a 7/16" bolt. If shock mount is 5/8" you could use
