What's in the Box

Info

Speedway sells the ONLY fully engineered shock mount. The 5/8" forged button head bolt looks good while offering maximum support.  The 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" billet aluminum support spacer has internal threads. This allows you to properly support this shock without crushing the bushing like others do, which leads to shock failures. There's a reason major chassis builders use this mount.

  • Billet aluminum
  • 4-1/2" from base of head to end of threads
  • 1-1/4" shock mount base
  • Safely mounts to brackets 1/2" thick
  • Includes required washers and nylon lock nut
  • Mounts sold individually

  1. Coil-Over Mounting Guide (GIF)
  2. Uses a 1/2" Allen head wrench for holding it while tightening.

The base of this mount is 1 1/4" long and the bolt is 4 1/2" long and 1/2"-20 fine thread. Compare these specs to the requirements of your application.

If you remove the steel bushing from the eyelet of those shocks the mount bushings should be 5/8" ID. Then you can use this mount.

Yes, you just need to weld a bracket to the frame with a 5/8" hole. Your spacing front to back must be parallel to allow proper shock movement. It is a good way to go because it allows proper shock movement as the rear end travels up and down.

This is a 5/8" bolt, must top mounts require a 7/16" bolt. If shock mount is 5/8" you could use

I have this mount on the lowest hole in the ladder bar bracket that is welded to the axle housing. The lowest hole does not leave clearance for the socket to go on the nut at the back side due to socket thickness, and the allen end is not in the best shape . If I understand correctly the large piece between the bracket and shock is threaded. Might it be possible to put a wrench on the hex portion and unscrew from there . Maybe you have an easier way otherwise I think it may be a porta- band and order the set up new and replace it all.

It may help to turn the spacer but you will likely be tightening it into the shock eyelet bushing so you will not be able to do much more than break it loose with the spacer. You will need to find some way to get a wrench or socket onto the nut as well as an allen wrench in the bolt.

Just from reading everything here, it seems the threaded rod that inserts into the axle mount is too short for my application. Is it possible to remove that threaded rod and install a longer one? Aside from that, this part looks exactly like what I need. For some reason I've been struggling to find these things most places.

You will likely need to fabricate your own mounts as these studs are part of the mounts.
