Q & A

What's in the Box

If you have power steering on your car and it has too much assist or a 'twitchy' feel to it you may have too much pressure to the rack or box.

This nifty valve allows you to adjust the pressure and get the road feel you want. It has a 1/4" npt inlet and outlet for the pressure line, and a 3/8" npt inlet and outlet for the return line.

Both pressure and return line need to be plumbed into this valve.

Over-powered Mopar Steering

July 03, 2015
I ordered this not realizing this was made for a Mustang. A couple connectors from Home Depot and it works on my 1971 Plymouth Duster. Between the pressure hose that I had rebuilt and the fittings, I paid about the same for these as the Heidts PS-101 cost. Money well spent. I know of a few people with over-powered power steering Mopars that have plans to buy this based on how will it worked in my Classic Mopar
Yes, I recommend this product.

Adjustable Power Steering Valve

March 01, 2012
WORKS GOOD AT FASTER SPEEDS . DOES'T WORK GOOD FOR SLOWER SPEEDS OR IN PARKING LOTS . INSTALLED UNDER THE HOOD DOES'T ALLOW FOR ADJUSTMENT WHEN DRIVING . I WILL REINSTALL IT UNDER THE DASH LATER SO I HAVE ACCESS TO IT WHEN DRIVING AND I THINK THIS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM .I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW THIS TURNS OUT IF YOU WISH . AT A LATER DATE
Pros:
  • Improves Handling
  • Road FEEL IS BETTER
  • It makes the car safer
  • Easy To Install
  • Adjustable
Yes, I recommend this product.

Adjustable pressure!

June 16, 2011
Very good pressure controller! This one bypasses the pressure internally rather then just limiting the pressure on the pressure side. Very fine adjustments, too.
Pros:
  • Adjustable
  • High Quality
Yes, I recommend this product.

This adjustable power steering flow valve helps in regulating the pressure and flow in many applications. Customer can dial in the desired assist and eliminate the twitchy over steer feeling. If you're not getting enough power assist you will need to open up the flow slightly. If the application has a fairly large tire mass, turning while sitting still and not moving may take more effort than desired and adjustment needs to be varied for best preferable results. Other internal problems may also exist in the pump or steering box presenting added problems.

Does this work for a system with a steering box ? I saw another site that was selling this or something similar to it and they advertised that it only worked for a rack and pinion system.

Speedway part number 91032923. This adjustable power steering valve will work with any system, as long as you are needing to adjust the volume of fluid, not the pressure.
