will this put the engine in the factory position as if originally came with a V8? i'm concerned about clearance issues regarding the oil pan, headers, steering etc...

Answer this question
A:
The mount kit you specify allows you to position the V8 engine in the A-body chassis that originally had the 6 cylinder engine. The mounts can be shifted somewhat front-to-back (to allow the transmission mount to align with the transmission mount crossmember) and thus get the engine in the “stock” position.
Exhaust clearance can be tricky. It is recommended to use the close-fit, factory V8 exhaust manifolds or Block-Hugger style headers to ease those issues.
Clearances to other areas can be close, but can be dealt with by sourcing original V8-specific components, “massaging” the trouble areas, or acquiring aftermarket equivalents for just such a conversion. Most customers have minimal difficulty when using V8s from passenger applications.
If you click on the link to the pdf file of the instructions for these mounts (accessible from our website when you search for the 7204695 part number) you should find additional, helpful information.

Answer this question
A:
This Swap kit is designed to install a Mopar 340-360 engine into a 1967-72 A-Body, originally fitted with a slant 6 engine. On the 65 "A" body the K-member supports are not in the same location as the 67-72 and the oil filter on the 340-360 would have to be relocated as well. Some fabrication/modification would be required to successfully use p/n 7204695 in your 1965.

Answer this question
A:
This kit allows the installation of 340-360 motors in the ’67-’72 A body Mopars such as Cuda, Dart, Demon, Duster, Scamp, and Valiant. It does not list other engine sizes for the transplant so verification of mount spacing and dimensions would need to be verified.
