Tru-Ram Manifolds 9300312 Details

If you are reading this then you probably already know that Tru-Ram®s are the best cast iron manifolds for your Ford Y-Block engine. These Ford Y-Block exhaust manifolds are designed after the truck manifolds, but have extra material where needed to improve flow and increase strength. Fits most 1954-1964 Y-Blocks. Does not included mounting hardware.

Includes gaskets, steel exhaust hook-up flanges (2" I.D.), and grade 5 hardware to hook up the 2 bolt collector flanges.

  • Ford 239 Y-block
  • Ford 272, 292, and 312 Y-Block
  • Majority of the 1954-1964 Ford Y-Blocks

Note: These headers are not designed to support any accessory mounting such as alternator, power steering pumps, etc. These manifolds do not publicize a fit for any specific vehicle.

  • Exhaust Flange Outlet: 2" I.D. (can be opened up to approx. 2.25")

  • Exhaust Flange Bolt Pattern: 2-bolt, 3-1/8" center-to-center 

(Please use the GIF chart below along with the following description.) "A" dimension, right angle to the exhaust port flange of the head, is 5.25". "B" dimension is in 2 measurements: from the centerline of the bolt holes UP = 4.5"; and from the centerline of the bolt holes DOWN = 4".

Note: One end bolt hole is slotted to the end of the casting. This will allow the installer to start one bolt into the engine to hold the gasket, and then slip the manifold onto that bolt and use that to support the manifold/gasket to make alignment and insertion of the other bolts much easier.

CARB Warning

For race/ off road use or for use on pre-1966 vehicles.

Emissions warning: this part only legal for sale or use in California for racing (competition) vehicles which may never be used, registered, or licensed for use upon a public highway, or if installed in vehicles model-year 1965 or older; motorcycles model-year 1977 or older; or off-highway recreational vehicles (such as off-road motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles) model-year 1996 and older. Any other use renders the vehicle tampered and not legal for use on California public highways (any public street or roadway, public dirt road, public park, or publicly maintained right of way open to the use of the public for vehicular travel). Violations subject to $37,500 penalty per violation per vehicle, revocation of registration, loss of use on California public right of ways, and proof of correction for tampering. There are similar restrictions and penalties under federal law and the laws of all other states with penalties under federal law of up to approximately $45,268 per tampered vehicle and/or engine.

1960 F250 4x4 compatibility

I was optimistic that I could fit these in a 1960 F250 4x4 and was pleased to find that they are compatible. As expected the dipstick tube required relocation, but that was a small job. As for the parts themselves, the quality was acceptable, good thick cast iron with strong looking reinforcements. The machining was so-so, requiring some touch ups where the grinding of the casting looked rushed and incomplete. I treated them with Slip Plate graphite after cleaning them up a little bit and was pleased with the result.

DUAL EXHAUST QUICKLY

The castings and the machine work are both a little rough. Four of the seven mounting holes are drilled out over size. They do mount fairly easy and leave you a lot more room then headers. The dip stick has to be bent for the right side to mount

Is the supplied 2 bolt flange simply welded solid to the end of the exhaust pipe then bolted to the manifold with the gasket in between? Or is it slid over the pipe and tightened against a flared end exhaust pipe to the manifold with a gasket in between?
