"We haven't been working on my son's Mustang since he's been having some health issues and I've been out of work for almost two months but I finally installed the Street Demon on his best friend's Monte Carlo SS. He has a 1984 Monte Carlo SS with a mild 355" Chevy, 1.94/1.50 valve heads, COMP Cams 268H camshaft, mid–length headers, automatic w/stock converter and 3.55 gears. The car had an Edelbrock 750 on top of a Weiand Stealth intake but that thing was a turd. It was killing him in gas money. I managed to get it tuned fairly close but it was still too much carb. He was getting 11–12 mpg in town and 15 on the highway. Car ran 14.77 at 94 mph. Real pig out of the hole too. I swapped the 625 Street Demon on the car and only needed to turn the idle screw a half turn to get it set at 700–800 rpm. Manifold vacuum was up to 15" from 12".

"We did the swap at HRP on a Friday night T&T session. Three runs at 14.75–79 with the Edelbrock. Swapped the Demon and went 14.25 at 98 mph. Two more runs netted 14.25 and 14.27 both at 98 mph. Took two full tenths off the sixty foot times. He just finished his second full tank on the carb and we've seen solid 14 mpg in town. No road trips yet but I'd expect it to pull down 17–18 mpg on the highway. The car is easier to drive now and doesn't smell like burnt fuel when sitting at a red light. Even his girlfriend noticed the difference. She didn't know we did the swap."
