Details
Speedway's exclusive steering & brake kits save you time and money by combining all necessary parts into one part number. Each kit includes brake kit, spindles, dust caps, spindle nuts, AN3 caliper fittings, Rubber Brake Lines, kingpins, flat steering arms, tie rod assembly and hardware.
For 48" kingpin-to-kingpin axles. Traditional steering arm for left front wheel NOT included with Traditional steering kit.
- Speedway 1949-1954 Chevy Spindles
- One piece forged 4140 steel
- Modeled after the 49-54 Chevy passenger car spindles
- Steering arms may be mounted to the top or bottom of the spindle
- Standard king pins fit to spindles
- Speedway 9-1/4" Brake Kit
- 9-1/4" Mustang II rotors
- 5 x 4-1/2" or 5 x 4-3/4" bolt patterns
- Wheel studs - 1/2" Fine (4-1/2" BP), 7/16" Fine (4-3/4" BP)

Application
- Chevy 1949-54 spindles are specifically designed for use on tube axles. A shorter, thicker axle stub makes this a slightly stronger spindle ideal for use with heavier street rods.
- Ford 1928-48 spindles are generally your best choice when using an original Ford axle or an aftermarket I-beam axle.

Steering / Brake Setup Complete
Great Value for the money if building a hot rod street rod rat rod. Cant go wrong with a Disc Brake setup for looks and performance... Note!!!: Dont think you are going to get this home and put it together if you have never done it before. Lots of parts and no directions on how to assemble. Takes a good knowledge of front ends to figure it all out.

Were do i start!!!!
Let me start with the snap rings and the dust caps for the kingpins Rings way too big took two people to put them in dust caps didn't even fit just fell out after packing bearings and putting in the rotor and assembling them onto the spindle found out that there's not enough threads for the castle nut to tighten everything up had to shim them up with more washers and last but not least the four bolts they sent me for The Hairpin to be bolted onto the axle the bolts were fine thread and the nuts or coarse thread was on the phone with the representative after giving him my cell number and I lost signal and they never responded back to me

This worked good for my application but I will say, the steering brackets and lower caliber slide bolts are extremely close. You will have to remove or loosen the steering bracket before removing the slide bolts if changing pads.

This kit was exactly what I was looking for. The reason I didn't reward with five stars was…..the flat steering arms would not work. The left arm was manufactured incorrectly. However, after reaching out to Speedway with corroborating photos, I received great support with the replacement part on the way. Big shout out to Anthony, and Tedica! Great customer service!

Pretty ridiculous as expensive as this "kit" is that you can't even have the right races in it when you get it. You have to knock the ones in it out and put new ones in. Then the steering arms have to be ground down to even clear the axle

Part # 9133901-4 3/4-TRAD-PLN on Speedway 4" drop tube axle The inner dust cap/Welch plug seems to install below the retaining clip. There is another dust cap that sits loosely on the boss. Is this cap to be used with this kit? Should the spindle rotate freely with no resistance or be snug with slight resistance? Should the kingpin lock bolt be flush or slightly protruding out? Thanks

Can the 7/16" studs be changed out for 5/8" studs? My 14" rims will require a spacer to fit with the disc brakes but your spacers require the 5/8" wheel studs.

Installing this brake kit on the speedway 4 inch drop axle with the spring located behind the axle, and with cross steering . I am not able to mount the calipers on the back of the rotor because the lower caliber bolt is blocked by the steering arm. I could mount the calipers on the front of the rotor, but wonder if there is a solution to this problem. thank you.
