Details
These steel axle shafts have a natural finish and are sold individually. They are perfect for small shops and will allow you to build your own custom width rear end easily. Axle length is measured from the flange to the end of the splines. Be sure to select your choice length; short or long, and either 28, 31 or 35 spline.
NOTE - The 35-spline short axle is not compatible with the 48" housing kit. Only 28-spline and 31-spline axles are long enough for proper engagement. The 35-spline short axle won’t provide the required 1 inch of engagement, making it unsafe to use with the 48" housing.
- Circle track / off road application 5/8" thread wheel studs sold separately 910-05957 and 910-05958
- Street application 1/2" thread wheel studs sold separately 910-05959 and 545-46190

Most customers praised the product for its sturdiness, durability, and functionality, stating it met their needs adequately for the respective jobs they were tackling. Many highlighted the product's unique feature of allowing them to customize their axle’s length according to their specific requirements. However, some users pointed out a lack of direct access to the bearing retainer nuts and the need to remove parts before installing their preferred ones, incurring additional costs. Some customers also mentioned manufacturing inaccuracies needing adjustments. Despite these concerns, purchasers are more likely to recommend the product, repeatedly confirming its excellent value for money and how easy it was to work with. They emphasized the quality, practicality, and versatility of the axles, often favorably comparing them to competitors' offerings.

Good price, good quality, some issues
Here's the good part. These axles seem to be extremely high quality. They are machined straight and true, they are some sort of higher grade hardened steel, and the dimensions are as advertised. The flanges are really nice and thick, and have three bolt patterns to choose from. If you look around, these are about half the price of Currie. Here's the bad part. All Ford 9" axles have a brake spacing of 2.5 inches from the axle flange to the housing flange. These seem to measure about 1/8" further out than specified. Not a big deal for me. The pilot diameter for the brakes is exactly as advertised, but most Ford 9" brakes have a smaller pilot diameter, so I ended up turning mine down in the lathe. I knew that going into it, so I wasn't surprised, and for me it was worth the cost savings over the exact correct axles from Currie. The bearings come with the axles, and the are the Ford large bearing size, but were different than my old ones. These are a tapered roller bearing, with a single seal on the outboard side. So if you use these, you should not have a seal inside the axle housing. The rear end oil is supposed to lubricate these, and the outboard seal keeps the oil in. Also, these come with the bearing retainers, but the bolt spacing was for the small bearing style, not the large bearing style. I still used them, and just put them in the vertical mill to get the holes correct. You probably shouldn't try this in a simple drill press because the holes are so close to existing holes. I'm really not trying to give a bad review, and I am very satisfied, but you need to be aware of these things before ordering. I was going to take it easy on these on the first lap around the block, but as soon as the crowd saw the car, they yelled "lite her up!", so I did a burnout, and then I hit it as hard as I could, and I can tell you the axles held up to the abuse.

still good for the price
Bought one axle, had machine shop turn the pilot/register on hub down to fit hole in rotor, all is good, purchased another one for passenger side, had hub turnned down, cut to fit and installed, runnout at rotor was excessive, .090+. Called custermer service and was really not left with any recource, axle had been cut and installed. I removed axle and had the flange faced by machine shop, TOTAL cost of axle after two visits to machine shop is well above cost of a currie or moser unit. POINT here is, check it before you cut it, maybe I got the only one with a problem, this was only the second time I've done busseness with "SPEEDWAY" I think they could have offered to do a bit more than let me incur expence making their product into a workable piece. You do get what you pay for, and although I had trouble that customer service let lay,for the money it is still a good buy for someone who would check it before they try to install. It is the way of most that do busseness these days, keywords are. BUYER BEWARE.

The only thing I don't like is the knurl size for wheel studs. Axle retaining plates where for a 8 " housing.

Like the fact that I can cut these down to length, bearings pressed on ready to go, have multiple bolt patterns to install wheel studs. I plan on tapping and installing screw in studs for drag racing use.

I purchased this to replace an axle shaft I previously purchased, did not know the hole in the center of my brake disc was a smaller diameter. Had the enlarge the hole in my disc the seat it on the axle, this was not the case with the first one I bought.
