Speedway Motors 481201 Details

There's a pretty good chance you aren't using the low oil level sensor that is sticking out of the oil pan on your LS engine. These plugs replace the sensor and clean the pan up. If you want to run an oil temp gauge, order the plug with the 1/8” NPT hole in it. Fits 99-up Vortec and 97-up Corvette and F-body LS1 oil pans.

Needed a way to read oil temperature. current oil level sender sensor is not being used so it worked out perfectly. i would say the readings are accurate but not sure if this is the best place to monitor oil temps since its basically just a reserve..better spot would probably be the oil filter housing where oil is constantly circulating
