Used the adapter to fit with an oil cooler conversion on a Ford 460 on a 1992 F250. With a narrow style oil cooler adapter all the pieces fit together in the stock location.

Hits the oil pan if you try to set the filter vertically, hits the fuel pump when you rotate it to the front and hits the motor mounts if you go the other direction. Should be fine when I take off the fuel pump a put on a block off plate.

In my case, it was installed to prevent oil drain back, Even when using the best oil filters, if the vehicle sits more than it is driven, some, or all can drain back from the filter to the pan. This part, when oriented so the filter is vertical, hanging down, makes that a physical impossibility, You definitely need a little grease to keep the o-rings in place during install, as they are a bit flimsy, and there would be zero tolerance for one of them not being in the groove when you tighten it down. Over all well made and a good value.

I am building a '51 Ford Victoria, and am putting the 351 W engine into it. The oil filter had a problem with not being able to remove and replace, so this fixed the problem. The easy remedy was to use a smaller oil filter, but this allows me to continue to use the easily available full size oil filter. I'm happy.

Adapter fits directly to Block or the original filter adapter? My 57 tbird 312 engine.. The spin on oil filter actually attaches to a plate that is the adapter used to convert over from the old style canister filter to the newer spin on. Does this 90 deg attach to that adapter or directly to the block?

Could someone describe how this attaches; does that bolt thingy just screw onto the threads of the original mount? What are the dimensions of this adapter (LxWxH) and what is the thread size and pitch? It looks like this would fit on my Toyota Landcruiser
