The difference between an LS Truck or SUV engine and a fire breathing Corvette is a lot less than you think! Upgrading the camshaft on the GM LS engine is one of the most cost effective ways to add power, as most other engine components are similar between the different performance levels of LS engines.

It’s likely your Generation IV 5.3 (LY5, LC9, LH6, LMG, LS4) came from the factory with a Active Fuel Management or Displacement on Demand (AFM, DOD, etc.) system, which disables the cylinders when not under load or the vehicle is coasting to meet strict EPA emission requirements.

Specific cams are built for these economy AFM engines that significantly reduce power. Replacement aftermarket and performance OE cams are not compatible with these shut down lifters. This all-in-one AFM Delete Kit from Speedway Motors compiles OEM GM and trusted aftermarket suppliers to retrofit your AFM LS engine to full 8 cylinder operation by replacing the lifters. Reprograming of the factory ECU will be required to remove AFM, or an aftermarket ECU.

This is the most economical AFM Delete Kit on the market!

As this kit is aimed to decrease emissions by removing the cylinder shut down function, it is not C.A.R.B. compliant and not for sale in California or emission tested vehicles.

Don’t forget to pick up a three bolt cam gear, (355-12586481) as most aftermarket and Non-AFM camshafts are three bolts instead of one.
