Info

The difference between and LS truck or suv motor and a fire breathing Corvette is a lot less than you think! Upgrading camshafts on the GM LS motor is one of the quickest most cost effective ways to add power, as most other engine components are similar between the different performance levels of LS engines. It’s likely your 4.8/5.3/6.0 came from the factory with Active Fuel Management, which disabled cylinders to meet EPA emission requirements.

Specific cams are built for these economy AFM motors that significantly reduce power. Replacement aftermarket and performance OE cams are not compatible with these shut down lifters. This great kit from Speedway compiles factory Gm and trusted aftermarket suppliers to retrofit your AFM LS engine to full 8 cylinder operation by replacing the lifters. As this kit is aimed to decrease emissions by removing the cylinder shut down function, it is not C.A.R.B. compliant and not for sale in California or emission tested vehicles. Reprograming of factory ECU will be required to remove AFM, or an aftermarket Ecu. This kit is the most economical on the market, we made sure it was!

Don’t forget to pick up a three bolt cam gear, (355-12586481) as most aftermarket and Non-AFM camshafts are three bolts instead of one.

  • For engines 2004 and up that have two lengths of headbolts
  • Fits 4.8 & 5.3 engines (3.91” max bore headgaskets)
  • Not for sale in California

Kit contains:

  • 16 LS7 style lifters
  • 4 lifter trays
  • 2 Headgaskets
  • Timing cover gasket
  • Front main seal
  • Water pump gaskets
  • Torque to yield head bolts
  • Torque to yield balancer bolt
  • L92 Ls valley cover
  • Valley cover gasket
  • LS timing chain dampener
Some parts are not legal for use in California or other states with similar laws/regulations
