Tech Tip: When assembling a tube, each heim end adds approximately 2" to the overall length (assuming the heim is screwed into the tube half way.) If you have a heim on each end of the tube, the working length from eye to eye will be approximately 4" longer overall than the tube. As a rule, your tube length will need to be 4" shorter than your working eye to eye length requirement.

These tie rod ends are just like our standard Ford 7 taper tie rod ends except they are made of beautifully chrome plated steel. They have 11/16"-18 thread and include hardware. Make sure to use anti-seize on the threads.

As you know when running a dropped axle on your Ford truck, the tie rod sleeve can hit the springs. The 1-1/2" drop moves the tie rod out of the way far enough to clear the springs.
