Good Quality

March 15, 2016
Good quality parts. Instructions should go further instructing user the importance of the top bar that holds the shocks. I should also suggest that the shocks be predicted before the bar bolt hold are drilled. My installation was off just a little. My kit had the wrong bolts to install the shock to the top bar. Went to part store and purchased two. Also my "Pan Hard Bar" would not mount back on due to shock position.
Pros:
  • Pretty Straight Forward
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great purchase

June 03, 2015
I debated leaving the 3" lowering blocks and stock springs. I went with the new suspension and it was a good move. The stance is better. The springs are stronger and tuck under for a better look. It was easy to install. I painted all the brackets first, which I would recommend. Can't wait to get it on the road and test the handling. Great value.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Chevy !/2 ton truck rear leaf spring kit

April 04, 2015
Shipping was fast ! All the parts appear to be made of high quality material and the kit is complete. However, some instructions on how to correctly install the spring perch/shock mounts would have been extremely time saving. I had to do a lot of searching to find out the correct positioning of the perch/shock mount pad. Overall ti is a GREAT product ! I gave it a 4 star rating due to no instructions or torque specs. of any kind.
Pros:
  • very complete kit
Cons:
  • no instructions of any kind
Yes, I recommend this product.

I'm sorry to say that we don't offer a kit for the 3/4 ton Chevy trucks.

Application clarification I have a 1954 Chevy 3100. The heading for this listing says it's for 1937-1953 trucks. You have a separate kit listed for 1954-1955 1st Series trucks, but the spring mounts look totally wrong for my '54. The linked installation pdf for the 1937-1953 kit says 1947-1954, and the illustrations for this kit actually look more like the existing frame and suspension on my '54 truck than the images that go with the specified 54-55 kit. So which one is correct for my truck, the one that LOOKS right (1937-1953# or the one that claims to be right but looks wrong #1954-1955)?

Depending on the year and model of the truck in question in the half ton series the 1947 to 1953 had the springs on the bottom of the frame and up thru the end of the first series in 1954. The next frame was different and the springs were outside of the frame in the 2nd series of 1954 and 1955. This was the year of confusion and only notable by the body style.

Yes this kit will work on your truck. The U bolts arrangement is different than stock, but the way this kit is designed will work fine.

No this will not fit the 1954 and 1955 Series 1 trucks as is. The frames on those trucks have a flatter frame rail over the axle and would require a modified upper shock mount to make this kit work. It can be done if you are willing to do some fabrication.

Yes the wheels are more center in the opening as you call it. Make sure you adjust the rod ends half way out before you install the brackets on your rear end. Measure measure measure

The brackets are made to locate the axle in a different location front to rear. You can view the changes by looking through the instructions to see if the changes are as desired. The instructions are available here: http://static.speedwaymotors.com/pdf/910-43237.pdf

At one time TCI only listed this kit to fit 1947 to 1953 applications but they have recently changed that to include 1937 to 1953 Chevy Pickup applications. Sorry for the discrepancy. We will get this listing updated to include 1937 as soon as possible.

This kit only works with the 3100 series truck per the manufacture. There are differences between the frames that will not allow this kit to work.
