Clean setup!

June 01, 2016
I used this to replace a spoon type pedal in my 26 T,I don't have much room, and needed a good, reliable throttle setup for some future racing. Your on your own on the installation, and the cable needs to be anchored properly, also I had to figure out a way to anchor the outer sleeve for it to work correctly, after that, it works great!
Pros:
  • Fairly Easy Installation
  • Smooth Action
  • Works Great
Cons:
  • No Instructions
Yes, I recommend this product.

works good but could easily made to be R

How the cable is held is the only downfall. They need to have a round cap with a hole in it for the cable housing to slide into so you don't have to clamp it so hard. The harder you tighten it the stiff the throttle operates and if it could be made to get a little more travel so you get wide open throttle would be nice. It's close but not quite enough & if you relocate the pull point on the carb, You will break the cable when you step on the throttle. Don't ask How I know that one! LOL
No, I would not recommend this product.

What's the screw post for? Purchased this pedal for my roadster project, but there were no directions or schematics included. The "directions" on your website are vague at best and it would be helpful to see a picture, or drawing, of the pedal installed.

The post with the bolt is a throttle stop. It allows you to have a positive stop on the pedal assembly instead of putting stress on the cable and carburetor linkage. Sorry for the limited installation tips on this item. This is somewhat of a builders type of item and does take some imagination for installing it. Each installation will vary but as long as you have the cable mounted so that the pedal pulls on it in a straight line then the pedal will work great for you.

It may be possible to mount this pedal upside down on the firewall but the throttle cable will have to be pointed down and may be tough to route toward the engine. The Lokar pedal 4916098 may be easier to fabricate a mount.

Yes this pedal is spring loaded. You will still need adequate throttle return springs on the engine as well.
