What's in the Box

Info

High torque, high output motors and gear reduction drive design spins the engine over faster, with 50% more cranking torque and LESS amp draw than a stock starter! Compact, offset design gives more header and chassis clearance. Fits small block Ford V8, 221 through 351W and 351C with automatic transmission or 5-speed manual.

Will NOT work with a late model AOD (automatic overdrive transmission.)

Notes

  1. The starter drive extends 5/8" in front of the mounting face of the starter.
  2. From the mounting face to the back end of the starter is 7-3/4".

Looking at the pictures of this starter it appears to have extra holes in the mounting plate. It does not say but is this starter ajustable/rotatable? #91067430

Yes this starter has the ability to be rotated or "clocked" to a couple different positions.

Starter number 91067210 works with either 157 or 164 tooth flexplates with .430 spacing from the back edge of the block.

Hello. My question is not specific to this starter but more for starter info. I am installing a 302 small block into a 34 ford and will be using a 164 tooth flywheel with manual trans and possibly your block hugger headers. Will need a mini starter. I had posted a question to your staff recently about this very topic and they suggested part # 91067210 starter. However, in the product description it states that this starter cannot be used with the 164 tooth flywheel setup. Can you clarify this for me. If not this starter, do you have one that will work ? My research has told me that ford starters are somewhat universal and will work for both size flywheels with the exception of using the correct size bellhousings. Thanks.

Doesntmate wontwork
Well..I went to Speedway and bought a 302 "Hot Rod" crate engine..C4 Street King drag tranny..164 race Flex Plate and lots other stuff..after many parts not mating up I had to return the starter because it was for a 4 cyl. Engine..lol. Got that took back and they gave me the Power Master Max 9162.. pt# 910-67210 ...like you it said it wouldn't work with a 164 flex plate..to use a manual shift starter..because using the auto 910-67210 p m max the starter gear does not return and rides on the starter ring..and explodes or does damage to other things..I tested the starter before I fired up the New Engine and Tranny in my 56 Ford Gasser and guess what? The starter sticks on the ring gear just like the info sheet says..will not index it says..it also says to use a manual starter for 164 tooth flex plates or flywheels..but he told me just what he told you..it would work with my hot rod stuff I bought from them..again the stuff does not mate or work...I'm still working on firing it up 3 mo.

There are really only two versions of Ford small block starters, one with a 3/4" pinion depth and one with a 3/8" pinion depth. The 3/4" pinion depth starters are labeled as "auto trans" and the 3/8" pinon depth are labeled as "manual trans." It will make things a lot easier for you if you take a look at Powermaster's Ford starter Tech Bulletin here: http://static.speedwaymotors.com/pdf/PMFord_Starters.pdf
