Merchant Response:

Bonk87us, thank you for your feedback. Your comments have been forwarded to our quality control team to investigate these camshafts for defects. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with our camshaft, but unfortunately we cannot issue a refund or exchange due to the variety of circumstances that may have caused the engine to malfunction. It may be possible that a bearing was spun and that rod or piston failure occurred. When this happens, the motor breaks, which can easily break the cam in addition to other engine parts. This is not an indicator that the cam broke and caused the failure. Again, we are sorry to hear about the malfunction and if any questions arise regarding engine failure, please contact our Technical Staff at 800.979.0122. Speedway Motors stands behind all the products we sell with the best service-after-the-sale in the industry and are happy to help ensure that our customers have the best experience with us in any way.

Great Cam

March 20, 2011
Ran this cam at a 3/8 mile dirt track and a 1/2 dirt track in a hobby stock with a 600 gear for the half mile and a 666 gear for the 3/8. it had lots of pulling power and I did not run out of cam on the half mile track. we were turning 6900 on the 1/2 mile and I never got out of the power range. I turned 6800 at the 3/8 mile track and was suprised that It did not lag on the restarts I am very happy with this cam
Pros:
  • Great power
Yes, I recommend this product.

Sorry I do not have any known or ballpark vacuum numbers for these cams. Typically if your rules require a specific vacuum rule we suggest a camshaft with a 110 to 114 degree lobe separation angle to boost vacuum. See our vacuum rule cams 282122363, 282122624, 282122684, 282122404.

Isky Rev Lube is a moly-sulphide paste used to protect cam lobes and tappets, rocker arms, valve stems and guides, push rod ends and distributor drive gears during initial start-up and break-in.

COMP Cams 159-12 Engine Break-In Lube Oil Additive
(Part #282159)

ZDDP-enhanced Engine Break-In Lube Oil Additive from COMP Cams provides maximum engine life while also allowing it to reach its full performance potential. It does so by improving the surface mating of valve train components (especially flat tappets), rotating assembly, rod journals, piston rings, valve guides and other vital areas of the engine. This proprietary break-in lube formula includes the optimum amount of critical additives ZDDP (Zinc & Phosphorus), Molybdenum, detergents and high grade base oil.

The multi-viscosity, mineral-based COMP Cams Engine Break-In Oil Additive is fully-formulated and requires no additives or supplements. In addition, the oil is fully compatible with gasoline, methanol and high octane racing fuels.
