What's in the Box

Info

Leave it to Speedway Motors to offer you a professional quality aluminum racing radiator at an affordable price. This double pass radiator works well for oval track racing applications where maximum efficiency is needed. The double pass design offers a 5 to 20 degree coolant temperature drop versus a standard, single pass radiator with equal core size.

This double pass radiator features 100% all-aluminum construction. The furnace-brazed core increases durability compared to other radiators with epoxy-glued or crimped-gasket sealing methods. Two rows of 1 inch aluminum tubes allows this radiator to out cool  a similarly sized radiator with five rows of copper tubes. A rugged billet aluminum filler neck with screw-in bleed is also included.

This radiator is designed for Chevy applications with both water necks on the passenger side. The upper inlet measures 1-1/2 inches outside diameter and the lower outlet measures 1-3/4 inches outside diameter. The radiator is available in 22", 24", 26", 28", or 31" widths, including the end tanks. All sizes are 19 inches tall.

  • All-aluminum, furnace-brazed construction
  • No epoxy, glue or crimped in gaskets
  • Maximum amount of fins per inch allows greater heat transfer
  • Two rows of 1" aluminum tubes (out cools five rows of copper)
  • Billet aluminum filler neck
  • Available in 22", 24", 26", 28", or 31" width (measurements include tanks)

In racing applications we commonly use a 28 to 32 psi radiator cap such as 91015707 or 91015628. You can certainly run a lower pressure cap if your application doesn't require a 32 psi cap.

We typically use a pivoting water neck such as 91015821 or 91015820 along with a flex hose when using a double pass radiator with a SBC engine

There is a small flange at the top and bottom that is approximately 1/2" tall which can be used to mount the radiator. You may also be interested in one of our mounting kits which is part number 91734700.

bottom outlet I need a 22 inch wide...which way does the bottom outlet point? It does look like it is mounted at an angle, from the pics. If it is straight and pointed to the water pump outlet it won't work on my truck. If it is straight and pointed down, it will work.

If your talking about temp wise my race car went from 220+ degrees after a race with a single pass radiator to 190 - 200 degrees after a race with a double pass radiator
May 18, 2011
Jason
There maybe a 5-10 degree change but this will depend on application. Is standard radiator working at or beyond its peak? Engine temperatures are often dictated more by fuel/ignition systems than by cooling system. Also water pumps are as key in a cooling system as a radiator.

Thanks for your inquiry into our products, there is a variety of fin counts but generally they range from 11-18 per inch. The lower hose is angled but I cant tell you if it is exactly the same as Afco but it will be similar.

The core width of the 31" wide radiator is 25 3/4" so you will need to trim a 26" fan shroud some in order for it to fit properly.
